1970 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS
Power and style: a premier example of Detroit muscle
The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is arguably one of the most sought-after muscle cars to come out of Detroit, and this one, well-equipped with the RPO Z25 Super Sport option, is no exception. For 1970, RPO Z25 meant the addition of the 396 CI Turbo-Jet V-8 — good for 350 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque — to the engine bay of the newly restyled Chevelle. This example retains its matching-numbers CTX-code 396/350 HP V-8 engine topped by a four-barrel carburetor and backed by a Muncie four-speed transmission. Restored in frame-off fashion to factory specifications, this Chevelle presents in shimmering code-55 Champagne Gold paint. With its white bucket seats with a console and RPO Z25 option, it grabbed the attention of bidders in Los Angeles this spring, one of whom is now enjoying everything this 1970 Chevelle SS has to offer.
